Step 4 of 5 - Save as PDF With Options

Step 4 of 5 - Save as PDF With Options

Both 128-bit and 40-bit encryptions have slightly different settings.

Setting the Printing to Fully Allow will allow a user to fully print the PDF.   The Allow Only Low Quality Printing option will limit users to a lower DPI printing, thus preventing them from just printing it to another PDF Printer Driver to remove the encryption, without sacrificing some loss of quality.   No Printing option prevents the user from printing entirely.   Only the Master would then be allowed to print the PDF.

Setting the Extraction to Allow Extraction of Text and Graphics will allow anyone to copy and paste images and text out of the PDF.   The Allow Only for Accessibility Programs will only allow programs marked as “accessibility programs” (programs that help blind or visually impaired users to read text on a computer) to extract the text and graphics from a PDF.

Setting the Allow Users to Edit the PDF will allow anyone to edit the PDF, if you uncheck it, only those with the master passwords will be able to edit it.

Setting the Allow Annotations will allow anyone to add an annotation (e.g. posted-notes and such) to a PDF, unchecking it will reserve this to those with a master password only.

Setting the Allow Users to Fill In Forms will allow anyone to fill out PDF form fields, unchecking it will only allow those with the master password to fill out the PDF form fields.

Setting the Allow Users to Assemble the PDF will allow anyone to assemble the PDF.   Unchecking it will reserve this to those with the master password.

NOTE: Encryption is not 100% secure (as no encryption truly is) and should not be regarded as such.   Use with caution.   CTdeveloping is not directly or indirectly liable for any damaged caused, loss sustained (because of loss of profit or any other reason) because of belief that this encryption would protect your PDF or the data / media it contains.
